The British Library Shop launch their gorgeous Summer Pastels range this week and Block are delighted to be represented with our deskware range including Sketch Desk Tidy, wooden Storage Houses and Perpetual Calendar.
Sketch is a pen holder based on a three-dimensional sketch, with an appealingly architectural quality. Fabricated in powder coated steel wire with a solid wooden base, the design-led desk tidy is highly functional and a great gift for creatives.
London's British Library houses over 150 million items, with around 3 million new items added each year. The collection is democratic, and embraces texts varying from maps to manuscripts, prints to patents.
In keeping with this dedication to diversity, the British Library Shop offers "books and gifts for the curious and literary minded", creating innovative pop-up shops at their flagship site in King’s Cross London which have included the hugely popular Comics Unmasked: Art and Anarchy in the UK, a celebration of the 150th birthday of Lewis Carroll's enchanting Alice in Wonderland one and our current favourite, Punk.
Starting with the explosion of the Sex Pistols on the cultural scene in 1976, the exhibition explores the influence of punk across music, fashion, print and graphic styles. We love the pops of neon and bold typography currently on offer in store and thoroughly recommend a visit to the exhibition which is open daily from now until 2nd October.
